Virginia Bulacio

Photojournalist & Storyteller

Welcome, Bienvenidos!

Virginia Bulacio is a multifaceted storyteller.

Virginia was born in the north of Argentina and immigrated to Los Angeles when she was in high school. During those years, she found writing and arts to express her feelings and her emotions, as an immigrant in the US.

After high school she attended Los Angeles City College, and found herself in the world of newspapers, photography, and stories. She published her work at The Collegian and later transferred to CSU Northridge, and published stories for the Daily Sundial and El Nuevo Sol. Her work includes print, radio stories, and multimedia stories. Virginia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and a minor in Spanish-Language Journalism.

She worked as a photojournalist for La Opinión and impreMedia, and she is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalist and National Press Photographers Associations.

She taught a photography class during the summer for a nonprofit called Global Glow, and she found another passion: teaching. She worked to run their summer camps and was also selected to attend The Global HerStory Summit, a week-long annual conference held in New York City, hosted by Global G.L.O.W. and Lit World, in partnership with the United Nation’s Working Group on Girls (WGG), an NGO committed to working for girls, with girls, at the United Nations.

Virginia is an educator and an advocate for young girls, who implements arts, culture, and language in her curriculum. Writing poetry, photography, running toy drives during the holiday, and coffee are some ways to get Vivi’s attention!
